Our office is here to help you. Before signing any such document, you should be aware that a Power of Attorney (“Plirexousio”) can be a powerful document in the hands of the grantee.
Depending on its content (Limited or General Power of Attorney), it can practically allow a third party to entirely substitute you, thus taking any action on your behalf; such actions can involve property management, selling or transferring real or personal property, withdrawal of money from accounts in your name, purchases, contracting debts, issuing and using credit cards, collecting income, etc.
The above actions, if taken pursuant to a valid Power of Attorney document, may be impossible to reverse or cancel and the consequences for you and your family could be detrimental.
Our experienced attorneys can assist in advising you of the contents of any such document you may provide us with, before its signing.
Our office can also handle the drafting of such a document to ensure your rights are adequately protected and prevent any third parties from taking actions you did not consent to nor authorize.
Finally, we can take all required steps towards revoking any Power of Attorney you may have signed in the past and ensuring that the grantee receives notice in the form required by the Greek Laws, so that he or she is prevented from continuing to act in your name.
